Yesterday I would break in my new Savinelli.

I new the taste wouldn't be the highlight of the day, but I just kept huffin' and puffin' on the damn thing.

When I was ready to go to bed last night, a sore throat keps me awake a few hours.
I'm letting the Savinelli rest today, and go back to building a cake in the bowl tomorrow.
Could the throat problem be because of the new pipe - or maybe just the first summer cold of 2010?

Hey Steen,

Haven't heard from you in a while.

I hope all is well.
As for the sore throat, you might have inhaled a bit too much, or your smoking something with too much Nicotine.
I haven't had a sore throat from pipe smoking for years. You might slow down on the cake building. I usually only smoke 1 bowl a day or less when breaking in a new pipe.

Good luck with the new Savinelli, and glad your back.

Heya pstlpkr - everything is absolutely fantastic, since summer is just begun in Denmark.

That might very well be the answer - that I have used the air condition in the car i bit too much, and that just backfired on my throat.
Glad to be back, too - had a bit of problems with some crappy elbows, but things are looking better now ;-)
I'll ease down a bit on the new Savinelli...

Hey Steen... it’s probably a mix of all of the above.
Your new pipe is just like anything us guys get new and that we really want, you know a new car, and new girl, or a new pipe. We go like crazy because we're so excited then if we're not careful something gets broken or hurt... pace yourself brother, unlike the other two there's a good chance the pipe will be with you for life. :)
