Bevel and burnish your edges. Takes longer to build, but the edge is the defining line between fine work and pedestrian.

For a classier, more stylish approach, you could dye the edges with a contrasting colour. Yup, that will add to the time it takes to make, but it might be worth it as it can increase the price tag a mite.

Clever design, I didn't think of that when I was making my leather pipe holders, but then again, I wasn't working with wood.

not my taste but at the same time I like how unobtrusive it is. How it really shows off the pipes. And I like the straps from a practical stand point. Though if it was mine I'd dye the straps slightly darker then the wood. Or vice versa. Either way.

I looked on Amazon (don't remember why) a while back at pipe racks. Only thing I remember about them was how unbelievably expensive they were. Sky high!!!

Now, I may be shooting myself in the foot by telling this but, I search garage sale ads for "pipes" and I've found several great racks over the the years, Usually Decatur solid walnut ones. 6 or 8 pipes are the most common. I've never paid more than $5 for one. puffy

p.s. I've also picked up several nice cigar humidors that would retail from 50 to 150 dollars. Usually get them for 5 or 10 bucks.

As I got into pipes and collecting them, soon I realized I need place to put them. I went online and didn’t like anything I saw, I was looking for something more modern. Talking to the manager at the local B&M and other pipe club members, I gathered their opinions and criticisms and started my journey. After the prototype was done, we tried every pipe in the store for fit. I listen to more opinions and fixed a few things. I’m a believer in criticism makes better products, I’m looking for yours. I have two other colors I’ll be showing later. Thank you for your time and opinions. View attachment 124682View attachment 124683View attachment 124684View attachment 124685

I like the direction you’re taking , you could go super hi end with an all wood Koa option for those who want more uniformity and really extravagant woods and of course darken the leathers to match , the metal is a bit too modern , but that’s just for me , it’s all about options , and people love variety.

I really like these. A beautiful design for sure. I don’t have the experience to offer any valuable insight like some of the others have already given. As a consumer, if I was in the market for a rack these would be strongly considered and they definitely seem like something my wife would purchase for me off of Etsy as a gift.
