As some of you may know I had ordered my first MM cob, which has arrived today. Also, I had purchased some Dunhill Early Morning Pipe, so I finally got to give it a first test run. My first impression is that it's quite earthy? and that it has has a good taste to it in general. However, it does seem that if you puff excessively, it's going to bite back.

Altogether I am absolutely thrilled with my new pipe and my first English. A damn good day for me!

On another note, I've also just ordered myself some Lane 1Q and I'm excited to see how that'll turn out.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my new hobby and I'm extremely grateful for the advice and opinions of the people on this forum, so thank you very much for all of your help in making my first foray into pipe smoking as easy and fun as possible !
Hope you're all doing well :puffy:

My first English blend was very earthy, too. I think it's the latakia.
So with a good pipe, a good aromatic and a good English blend, you are on your way. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new hobby.

It certainly seems that way philip. I've also got a Peterson, which I rather adore. I think I'm stuck with pipes for life :)
