Hi smokertruck,

I, too, have several pipes that I can't pass a cleaner all the way to the bowl. It's annoying, but since I like the pipes, I live with it. I do think I have a solution for the possibility of getting a piece of tobacco in the airway.
brass pipe screens

http://www.amazon.com/Brass-Screens-500-100-Hardware/dp/B004OAL25O/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1375912984&sr=1-2&keywords=pipe+screens
I use these whenever I have a tobacco that has a tendency to drop small bits to the bottom of the bowl.

As far as moisture build-up, the only thing that helps me is keeping the pipe out of my mouth until I'm ready to draw on it. I do hate those gurgling noises...
BTW, have you tried the pipe cleaners with the bristles in them? They seem to leave less fluff behind...or that could just be my imagination.

had not tried the bristle cleaners as the airway is rough enough so as you say live with it all as the pipe tastes good even on second bowl.

Hi Smoker, welcome to the forums. Depending on where you are in Toronto there is a tobacconist in Oshawa called Victory Cigars that has the screens and they have a very reputable repairman that they send pipes out to once per month to get fixed. If you're in the east end then travel to Oshawa is a cinch and the guys at Victory are just fantastic to deal with. They also have a good selection of tobaccos and pipes on hand. I don't work for them, but I have said to many other members here how great a shop they run. PM me if you're interested in more details or interested in joining our pipe club.

I think a good repairman would find this pipe an easy one to fix, and enjoy making it just right. It isn't split or

damaged, just needing some careful adjustments. It's easily fixable. This is just the kind of thing a repair

person enjoys doing. Let 'em!
