Brian, I see you commissioning many of your pipes. Do you often dedicate a specific blend to these beauties after tasting and sampling? Enjoying the pics.

No, not really.
The majority of my tobacco choices are Virginia based. I've never noticed much of a "ghosting" among my pipes, even after smoking those blends with some degree of sweet casing/topping, or more pungent leaves like dark fired burley and some orientals.
As a rule I don't smoke latakia or "English blends" with any regularity.
On the rare occasion that I do, it's typically an older vintage and a gift. I'll select a pipe that doesn't have a well developed cake, and I'll give it a good cleaning when it's finished.
Hell, all my pipes get the same cleaning after every smoke anyway.
A pipe cleaner dipped in Everclear through the stem, then the stummel. I think this preventative cleaning leads to better smoking experiences across the board.
