Starting to Get Obsessed

The government caused the current system by not allowing wage increases during ww2. Companies had to use other incentives to lure people to jobs. A lot of jobs started providing health insurance and the industry got huge. Now we can't even find out how much stuff costs, doctors don't know how much stuff costs... it's all proprietary information held by the insurance companies. There's a whole lot of kickbacks and backroom door stuff going on to keep everything very very expensive and the health insurance companies don't care as long as they collect more than they pay out. The solution?! Force everyone to have health insurance!
I have a lot more to say but it's pretty colorful...
I hope we as Americans are not as stupid as a whole as I think we are.

There is a problem here... The insurance companies are in the middle. Insurance Companies are not the evil force here. How would you like to be a stockholder of a public traded insurance company and be told that your insurance company (you, as a stockholder) it must insure everyone regardless of their personal health status and only be allowed to charge a premium that does not allow your insurance company to underwrite (to know) their health problems and have a right to charge more or refuse coverage? After 41 years as an Independent Insurance Agent as Agency Owner, I would like to see a "Universal Health Care". It is only 7% of my income. So, I really do not care! I suggest it be "Medicare for everyone" (those who have a valid Social Security Number). Get it off the backs of the Employer. It would be portable! If the eligible person is employed, they pay off their paycheck as we do now for Medicare Deductions from Pay. If not, eligibles are covered anyway until they are a wage earner. But, the way this Law is crafted, it is doomed for failure at the least, or doomed to be paid for by reductions in Social Security and reductions in Medicare benefits to the retired at best! And, those folks can't afford that penalty. But, it now is the Law. This is very sad and I am a professional with understanding who has followed the entire evolution of this new Law.
Now, I am going to stuff my pipe with Captain Bob's Blend and make myself a Canadian Club Manhattan and enjoy a bit of relaxation so I can stop fretting over the uncertainty of the future!

Please excuse me for offering a post immediately following my post. But, one thing really disturbs me. That is, if you are sick and maybe dying, smoking "weed" is legal in some States and they want to make it legal in all States. Wait a minute! They inhale weed? Us pipesmoker's generally don't inhale! But, it is ok to legalize the use of weed and inhale while persecuting pipe smoker's? Give me a break!

The US isn't what it used to be. Weed legal, tobacco not legal - whose making up these stupid rules? Hypocrites that think we're to stupid to manage our own lives and we voted them in.
