I started out like many others with aros like Capt. Blk then English, and strong Balkins, heavy Perque then back to light aros, full circle, my buds may be burned out ? Still searching. Latest is Rattray’s Bagpiper’s Dream.
It's interesting how ones tastes change.

A few years back I turned off aromatics. So much so that I offered to swap a pound of Mark Twain [My first order from OS before I discovered www.tobaccoreviews.com] for a few pipes with a guy who I'd gotten to know who was selling off his pipe collection.

1lb of tobacco bought here now costs over $1,000, I shit you not, so I'm rather surprised that the guy didn't respond to my offer. Now I'm so glad that he didn't since I've come full circle and am rather fond of light aromatics.

As it turns out, the Mark Twain, which is too sweet and goopy for my tastes, is a real treat when mixed 4 parts to 1 part of London Squire, a rather dry English blend that's a bit astringent.

This is why many of us advise newbies to cellar any blends not to their liking. [Thank the Gods that I didn't learn that the hard way since baccy is so ludicrously expensive here in Nanny State Australia]
I've found that when I mix up the genres that I smoke, I don't get tired of any one in particular.

Far be it for me to try and tell a pipe smoker with 50 years experience how to suck eggs, but reading other smokers experiences, nothing fatigues ones taste buds more so than Lat-bombs.
I'd suspect that "heavy Perique" blends could also have the same effect.
