Hello everyone. I joined last evening here in the UK. Looking forward to extending the contacts and developing my enjoyment of the pipe with you all.

I live near the city of Chester, in the county of Cheshire, UK. Retired teacher, love art, reading and gardening and, of course, a pipe. I have enjoyed smoking for many years now and a pipe had to be the choice. I have about a dozen pipes with another two on order! Cannot quite resist the appeal of something special! I prefer the English blends to aromatics, as I like the plainer tobacco taste for smoking. However, I am up for trying new things and might just give an aromatic a try soon. I prefer Peterson's, Falcons and a couple of Parker pipes, but one of the pipes on order is my first Savinelli 320, black, rusticated. It looked so good that it had to be the next choice! Looking forward to many hours of smoking it!

It is a privilege to belong to this pleasant fraternity of pipe people, so ladies and gentleman, I wish you well and look forward to further pipe adventures with you.

Wherever you are today, enjoy your pipe.

Welcome to the Forum. There are several members from the UK here so hopefully you'll be able to connect with them as well. Savinelli is always a fine choice but beware that spending time here will cause your pipe and tobacco collection to grow immensely. Have fun here.

Folks, I appreciate the warm welcome. Pipe smokers are very civilised and this great fraternity really does show off the best of our personalities! In the last few months I have gone from being an everyday, non-thinking smoker to a learner and developer, trying new tobacco blends, buying some new pipes and, now, aiming for individual pipes and designs, if they are within my budget! I do hope that you all can enjoy your pipe today and find that special moment with it. It isn't the be-all and end-all of things, but it comes pretty close!

I have just come in from evening work, there is a cup of Earl Grey tea on the table and a couple of biscuits and my Falcon is fired up and smoking smoothly.

Best wishes and thanks again for the welcome.
