Thanks for the friendly welcome everyone. It is greatly appreciated.
PawPaw: I haven't tried any English blends yet. So far, I have been smoking a cherry almond blend I get from the Tinder Box about an hour from my house. I must admit I selected it only because my wife found it non-offensive and permits me to smoke it in my office! I enjoy it a great deal, but as of yet, I have nothing to compare it to.
hobie1dog: Thanks for the welcome. I'm in the Southern Ohio town of Chillicothe, about 60 miles south of Columbus.

Welcome to the forum....Keep telling your wife the tobacco is cheaper than cigars. Just don't let her find out what the pipes cost.

Welcome, Clark. Pick up some Sherlock's Choice or Philosopher next time you are in The Tinderbox. Special Blend is pretty good too. Good intros to English style tobaccos.

Welcome Clark. I'm very new to this forum and pipe smoking myself. This forum is great with tons of info, videos, pics, and great people that really help eachother out. I also started with a Cherry Blend, however within a few days I dove into the English blends and Virginia flakes. Try the Frog Morton On The Town. Smooth and wonderful Latakia in it. All the best!

Their #19 blend is also really great. (the tinderbox one that is). Philosopher is really good too.

For me when getting into the pipe (from cigars), it was hard for me to enjoy it until I found English blends. Don't care much for aromatics, but everyone's tastes are different. Another reason why pipe smoking is so great... the variety!
