“Although I have 89 pipes and will stop at 100”

I said that too. I hope you’re more successful than I was.

Great to see you here. Welcome from northern NJ!
Thanks for the encouragement, jguss. I have a cold heart and steel nerves. Unfortunately, when it comes to pipes, my brain is like a marshmallow. When I hit that hundred mark, I'll probably go three days and ask my doctor for Prozac!!!

Welcome from your state capital. Fifty miles west of Asheville is near-about in Tennessee. That's pretty country. Years ago my late wife and I (I'm remarried) camped in a state park around Bryson City. They warned us about the skunks, and sure enough, a whole family marched right under our folding chairs as we sat at our fire. Like they told us, we just kept still and kept our conversation polite, and everything smelled fine. My second wife grew up in remote Missouri farm country but worked much of her career in Manhattan and on Long Island and misses New York.

Here
Hello from Austin, Texas.

A decade ago, my wife and I spent a week in Sapphire on vacation.

We took the train ride through the Nantahala Gorge and visited a great model train museum in the area. Also learned quite a bit about the Cherokee that evaded the whole Trail Of Tears tragedy and persisted in the area.

A beautiful area known, if I recall, for an abundance of waterfalls. We also made it into Asheville for some great hippie food.

Welcome to the forum!

Many thanks, STP. You've sure had way more than your share of ice, freezing rain and "snow up to here."
It's the new normal and now called Global Warming.
If it gets any warmer, next year's summer will be in the low teens to mid-20's. Not to worry, I'm sure Biden will issue Executive Order #237, to have Dr. Faucci control the weather.

Thanks, mso489. Glad to be onboard; what a wonderful group of "down to earther's." Many years ago I lived your experience. Just change your skunk's to my racoon's and put them in a Northern California State park. We're in a tent, it's 3am and we hear people walking all around us like they lost something and are trying to find it without flashlights. I peeked out. No people. More peeking: Little legs, stripes and masks before it was mandated. Must have been 12-15 little furry critters out there. My wife asked what that racket was and I just said, "It's the nightly clean-up crew."
