New Member Blaming Forum For PAD - Pics

Been a member for a couple months. Didn't even know what "PAD" stood for. It appears to be far more contagious than Ebola though.
Here's the pipes I owned BEFORE Pipesmagazine.com forums:



Top two are Boswells. On the left was my grandfather's. He lived near Boswells and dies while I was out of the country. When I got back to the states I went out to visit, and bought my own Boswell since that's what he had.

The other two on the left are Peterson Kinsales I bought in London. On the right is a Chacom I bought in France - it was my first pipe ever. Below that is a Thomas Christiano I bought here in Indianapolis.
Now here's AFTER this forum:



Left hand side is a Poul Winslow I bought new. An Erik Nording Grade 14 and a Sterling Hall. Those were ebay buys. On the right side is a Stanwell Buffalo, a Kaywoodie Regent and a Dunhill. The Dunhill is worn, has been repaired and you can't read the full logo. But it's a birthyear pipe for me and it was about $50 from Pipestud.

This forum is the opposite of Alcoholics Anonymous. Here the 12 steps leads to a 100 pound cellar and a room full of pipes. Nice collection btw.

I really like the Kaywoodie Regent. I might have to limit my time on here. I keep learning about new brands, stores, tobaccos and all sorts of things I want to learn more about... that leads to more things I need to "check out". I can see this is going to be a problem.

The Kaywoodie might have been smoked once. But I'm not a collector, I'm a smoker, so it's going in to the rotation. It still had the $10.95 price tag on it. The Stanwell is actually very small. 3/4" bowl width. I wouldn't want anything smaller. I suppose the overall stem length could be shorter though. The Winslow is like a tulip in shape. And the way I hold it it just fits perfectly in the hand. Fabulous smoker. Probably my favorite pipe. The Nording might have also been smoked once - it smelled of smoke. But visually it looked like factory carbon coating that had never been smoked - until I just finished a bowl of Orlik Golden Sliced in it tonight. Just got it in today's mail.

I love experiencing PAD vicariously by viewing pictures like these! Saves me a ton of money.

those are some great looking pipes. I started wit 2 pipes I got off ebay I was going to fix and sell, but instead I got into the hobby and now I have 17 pipes

That Nording is gorgeous and looks unsmoked in the pic you posted. I love his graded pipes and he does a hell of a job with crafting them. Have not smoked one yet, but plenty of time left to change that.
As far as PAD goes, it's too late...you're screwed. Joining the forums was the nail in the coffin. Just sit back and enjoy the calluses that will build on the tips of your fingers from clicking "buy/bid now".

Nice Winslow. I just bought one myself at a pipe shop in Munich. I love his "handmades". Much better than the "crowns".

Well - took my PAD temperature again today. USPS delivered this pipe, which I promptly buffed back to a decent sheen. Savinelli Oscar Aged Briar.



That's 7 new pipes in 2 months of being a forum member. 6 in the past two weeks.
