Hello everyone.
I started smoking pipes in 2018 after switching over from cigars. Upon receiving my duty station of Alaska, I realized that cigar smoking would be an even more expensive hobby to maintain, so I made the switch to pipe- one that had been tantalizing for some years now.
I smoked all through my military career and amassed a good little collection of tobacco and pipes, one I’m quite proud of. Some soldiers buy nice cars, or video game consoles, I bought tobacco and pipes. For being only 25, it’s increasingly difficult to find other like minded pipers my age, so here I am on this forum. I live in California (Los Angeles) and I also play bass in a rock band.
happy to be hear and happy to be apart of such an esoteric group!

my favourite pipes include
Brigham, Peterson, and a few small private pipe makers.

many favorite tobaccos include Plum Pudding, solani’s aged burley, C & D’s sams blend, and pretty much everything from G.L Pease.
Would love to connect with local pipers to trade cool shop locations, tobacco, tips, etc.

Welcome!

A couple jokes from one bass player to another:

Q: How do you know when a bass player has been at your house?
A: He's still there!
Q: How do you get rid of him?
A: Tell him rent's due!

Glad you found this place - lots of excellent info to be found here.

Howdy and welcome aboard from Ohio.

What branch were you in? Where were you stationed in Alaska? What part of LaLa Land do you live in?

I was stationed in Kodiak with the Coast Guard for a bit and also lived down in San Pedro in LA harbor while I was stationed there.

Please put your location in your Profile, as people are forgetful.
Why: It will save time for others as to where you live when you mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, wildfires, air quality, etc. In many instances that saves time for those who read your posts, and for you in not having to reply to inquiries. .
How:
Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down. Whatever you're comfortable with- town, city, county, state. province, etc.

Rather than a link, you can simply insert the photo. Quicker, easier on viewers.

Welcome from Austin.

What are some of your musical influences? I’ve always enjoyed playing bass but I’m more of a guitar man, recently taken up the Spanish guitar and I’m hooked.
