Really nice beaters, dig the bonsai, want to see more of them now.
Thinking about putting that one in the ground for a couple of years to fatten the trunk a bit, then returning it to the pipe. So far, it's recently the only pipe that I have found useless enough to do that with.

If it's true function with you is as a bonsai container then do it up. I'd drill drain holes in the bottom and maybe plug the button and convert the stem/shank into a humidity tray. Take the bonsai out first.

That's brilliant! I had been using the pipe's airway for drainage, but hadn't thought about a humidity tray. Great idea!
