Jack White is absolutely brilliant. His style isn't for everyone, certainly, but he's got more genuine talent, both as a songwriter and as a musician, in his pinky fingernail than many of the over-produced, Disney-creature assclowns that attempt to pass for musicians these days have in their entire stock portfolios.

Anyone who has not listened to the song Cut Like a Buffalo by The Dead Weather is missing out on a fantastic piece of music. Like Mr. Pease said, The Dead Weather is kind of hard to swallow, but that one song defines the band, at least in my opinion. And I agree that Jack is a huge talent, although he can be a very brash individual at times.

Funny and strange...I am smoking some Jackknife Plug now in a Boswell Freehand and got the album on (yet again) in the background. That's just some good livin'.

i have always loved jack white (even when he was playing a quickly slapped together lap guitar made from some old string, a chunk of wood, nails, old hardware, and a glass bottle) and blunderbuss was no exception

OK, admittedly I had know idea who Jack White was until now, so using Al's link I listened to the album twice.
I also grew up with vinyl and although it brings back some great memories, that's about all I can say about it.
As for Jack White, this guys is the best thing I have heard in years, maybe a couple decades. His music is better then his vocals but both are very good. In his style I hear a passion and a depth I have not heard since the late 60's early 70's.
I would be interested to read what his influences were because what I hear in his music are flashbacks of the WHO, IRON BUTTERFLY, MOODY BLUES, TEN YEARS AFTER and the like from back in the day.
If this is an example of where music is headed, all I can say is thank GOD its about time.

If you want some insight into the wonderful weirdness of Jack White, I recommend the DVD "Its Gonna Get Loud" which highlights the guitar trio of Jack, the Edge and Jimmy Page. It is a great rockumentary.

Great new album! I listened to it on the way to and from the Chicago Show. Good road music.
