Welcome to the forum the Son of Australia, beautiful country.Both our countries as somewhat anti-tobacco places to live

MetalheadcigarGuy:concerning on the Pad and Tad, it's funny to observe that our vigilant Customs authorities keeps my Pad&Tad from developing ,,and limited finances in that regard.

Hey Rob,

I've heard great things about the Vegas show, but have yet to attend myself...will work on correcting that, though. The Chicago pipe show is May 5 & 6, and is usually around the same time of the year, each year...biggest, and since I live in the Chicago suburbs, I've been going there regularly for the last 15 years or so...I usually go on Wed or Thur, and guys start arriving earlier in the week than that.

Not so sure about the analogy of flavored tobaccos comparing to flavored cigars. I'll smoke a cherry or vanilla blend occasionally, and at most, I'd say there's not much more than a hint of the flavoring. Flavored cigars IMHO compare more to flavored hookah tobaccos. Funny thing...the Chicago pipe club meets at a tobacconist, and a couple of months ago, they sold a blueberry flavored cigar, and the guy fired it up in the store. The whole store (it's a fairly large tobacconist) almost immediately was overwhelmed with a strong chemically/blueberry smell. Within minutes, the owner told his employees that going forward, they can only sell more of these to customers who agree not to light them inside his store.

Thanks again, Gents - really appreciate it.
@sablebrush52

Thanks so much for the hospitality and 'invitation'. I've spoken to my cigar travel buddies (who aren't pipe smokers, yet, and we are now trying to plan an itinerary that will allow the weekend of the 10th and 11th November to have us in Vegas! I'll keep you up to date, Sir.
@Metalheadycigary

The PAD and TAD are in full flight.

I'm trying to accumulate as much tobacco as I can, while I can. The PAD has slowed just a bit, as I focus all my funds on Tobacco. Picked up some Cobs, Savinellis, and a Castello. I'm pretty keen to get some more but need to cool my jets as I spend up on tobacco.
What I failed to mention in my post above when I mentioned the Tobacco Tax to be $1000 per Kilo, is that there is a compulsory annual increase of the tax by 12.5%

Basically, mid year, the tax will will rise by about $125 per kilo. Next year it will rise again by $140 per kilo..... You get my point....

This essentially means that buying a 1.75 ounce tin, the tax payable would be $56.25.
When I started 20 years ago with cigars, I was upset at having to pay $50 per kilo tax..... It's just shows you never really know how good it it till its gone.
The adage of tobacco has never been cheaper or more readily available is real my friends. Seriously, I think illicit drugs bought off the street would be cheaper!! But that's not my kind of thing.

Howdy Rob. Another welcome from the state of Texas. Hope to see much more of you around here in the future. Let us know what you like and dislike about some blends. Always good to see other peoples' perspectives.
