Welcome new guy. Might I suggest a blend that a lot of people love, Escudo. It is a virginia/perique flake that is an all time classic. It is easy to find and hopefully you will enjoy it. That shop owner is not too bright, if he made you feel welcome I am sure you would have spent money there. Try some of our sponsors for your next tobacco purchase.

Welcome to the forum csquared! I as I know the community as a whole are gla to have you join us. This website houses some of the finest pipe smokers you will ever meet. The hospitality is beyond belief along with the number of things going on. There is never a dull day here.

Just remember to keep it fun. When my schooling was getting in the way, I put this first and it became a chore. It should not become that so remember to keep it part of your hobby and don't make it a task. If you were wondering, I did break free from that and although I don't visit daily now, it is no longer a chore because it doesn't conflict with my schedule.
