New GLP Blend!!! Six Pence

A few puffs in and I already think it's very good. Sweet earthy Va.s are the star. I'm trying to figure out the other components, Turkish seems to be one of them. Has a few spice and plum notes, indicating perique. No deer tongue. Wish I had more than three bowls worth. I'll gauge it as best I can given the small amount that I have.
I didn't think it was anything like Stonehaven. It's not that kind of broken long flake. The sweetness, while different, is a little stronger, and I didn't get any burley notes. But that's a first read, and I need to smoke more. That's where I am at this moment.
Virginia, Perique and Oriental tobaccos hardly fit the "a little touch something special" moniker that Mr. Pease has employed... Leading me to believe that some sort of topping is indeed on the cards. But this is all linguistic speculation. And i'm Spanish. And a newbie... So the validity of my opinion on the matter is highly suspect...

I read a great guess on another forum: perhaps it's his take on old Three Nuns. Pease's love of that blend is well-known. Six Pence is a coin, just like the original. Virginia spiced with perique and dark-fired, plus the special Three Nuns flavoring no one has ever been able to duplicate.

Escioe: The "Blend X" given at the Richmond Show is not coin cut. It's broken flake. And it didn't taste like the VaPer Three Nuns, though I've only smoked one bowl, which is not enough to gauge the flavor. I'll smoke another bowl today and see what I think.

The 3 Nuns recipe is readily available. It lists ingredients as well as quantities of each.

I didn't think it would be coin cut, just that a Six Pence is a coin. Seems like since Pease first did the broken flake in 2006 with Fillmore, he's been pretty happy to use it. And why not?
Anyway, I'm not sure it needs to be coin cut to be a take on Three Nuns, or at least a nod in their direction.

For the last few months I have been busy moving from California to Massachusetts and have not been online for a while. Now that I have internet access again, I will post more often.
As for Sixpence, Greg says on his website, "A few friends who have served as voluntary lab rats during the development not only survived the ordeal, but are as excited as I am with the results."
I am one of those lab rats and I will say that you lot are in for a fabulous treat.

I finally got around to smoking it. It reminds me of briar fox with the va/burley, but a little sweeter. Maybe more red Virginias? Still can't tell if it's topped which is a good thing. I'll have to buy more when it's finally available(and finding out what's actually in it).

Just placed a pre-order with P&C. Normally I'm not the one that waits in line for things, but as Greg makes my favorite blend, I'm ok with trying to pull something from the first run.
Red Virginias, Perique, Dark Fired and a mysterious spirit. Sounds interesting. The ad copy is great, but I'd be interested to hear more about the thought process that went into this. Was there a certain goal in mind, flavor wise, or was it just sort of an ad hoc process of "Hey, let's take a VaPer and add some DFK to it -- and some alcohol!"?
