Hi all, I'm Tony Alderman from Durham NC

I tried smoking a pipe back in my twenties, it was one of those cheap store-bought pipes from the drugstore. Back then there was no YouTube to help explain things, so as you can probably guess, this led to me giving up pretty quickly. When covid-19 hit I found myself spending more and more time on the deck so I found my old pipe. I decided to go to YouTube to find out what I did wrong the first time I tried smoking it. With that wealth of knowledge LOL I started smoking my pipe again!! I also became deeply interested in almost everything to do with pipes and their history. I came across an old House of Lords pipe completely refinished and ready to smoke . The first time I smoked it I realized what smoking a good pipe really means.

As an artist and a woodworker I started seeing the beauty in the form and finish of the pipes. So......now I am refinishing any pipe I can get my hands on. ? I even find myself seriously thinking about buying a lathe ?

I’m really glad to have found this forum.

Tony
