Falcon pipes (by Falconeer)

it was a post on another forum and gives a good idea on owning and maintaining a falcon pipe
Thanks Paul. Read through this today Very informative. Do you find that Falcon bowls need a break in? For most pipes these days I just smoke them without worrying about breaking in but it may be that there is a difference in briar quality. I’m hoping my Falcon will arrive today. My meerschaum bowl arrived yesterday.

The only new briar Falcon bowl I have had was a Hunter one and it tasted fine to me.
The other ones were already broken in estate ones.
I did find I needed to do the chamfering of the draft hole after a while though as I was getting the wet dottle problem

I also agree with Paul to cut away the bowl a bit. I actually sand the bottom of the bowl and then use a knife to ream out the hole. I like to see a very small gap at the bottom. Sometimes a little ash gets through but the airflow is much better IMO.
