Beautiful collection!
How does the meerschaum smoke, does the bowl get hot?

Thank you.

I really like this small pipes for walking, holidays and visits at restaurants/cafés. They are so easy to bring everywhere - and they are great smokers.

The meerschaum can get a little hot, but not more than the Eltangs.

These look like good basic pipes, and I'm reassured by the report that they smoke really well. It does seem like a basic pipe should have a really moderate price, ala MM cobs and even the similar basic pipe from Nording. But I guess it is like denim jeans. Some people are happier paying $128 for them than forty or fifty or less. Or maybe this is proof positive that I'm a miser. Or as I say, Scotch.

I hear you - and maybe you're right.
But: some will pay for a basket pipe - and be happy. Some will pay for a Dunhill pipe - and be happy.
Some will pay for a cob - and be happy. I will pay for a handmade Eltang - and I'm happy 😉

While the Nording basics might be good smokers I like the Eltang aesthetics.
The characteristic rustication, the rim shape and the mouthpiece seems more elegant in a boiled down-minimalist way, at least in my eyes. I might be a bit brand-fixated as well.

Corncobs does indeed have a rustic utilitarian quality about them and I've heard they are perfect for smoking burleys. Will definitely buy a few and try the combination.
