The late great foggymountain, a member here for years, smoked mostly Dunhills, and during his years on Forums he was buying mostly prince shape pipes. He worked in pipe shops on Manhattan as a teenager and recalled when Kaywoodie was the primo pipe, with Dunhill running second. He also bought a new Mercedes convertible in later years, but got disgusted with the digital systems and sold it off and went back to a Ford Expedition, or something like that. He was an artist and likely needed the space to haul around his paintings. His recommendation on Dunhills is/was authoritative, so congratulations.

Unless it's a faux military mount, stem going into briar and the horn more of an accent, the horn may be extremely fragile. I'd be afraid of the stress put on the mount otherwise. The extra care to put into horn to keep it from drying out and cracking would give me pause as well.

Yep, the 2021 Chestnuts use real horn. Looks like direct stem to horn contact.? A ferrule mount not an actual military mount.

I understand the clarification as it is indeed not a traditional Army Mount. As that's how they are called by most merchants, I decided to use this terminology.
As for your concerns, they are definitively appreciated, and I thank you for them.
I don't think, though, the horn mount will turn out to be a problem.
