See and I'm the opposite. I don't want color, odd shape, or fancy carvings. Simple is my favorite.

with briar I feel the same way. Classic is the way to go. With meer I want art.
That is a beautiful pipe. I am going to have to reach out and see about getting him to make something similar. I have wanted a smooth bowl billiard meerschaum pipe for sometime; however, the only ones I can find are either way too big, or way too small.
Now to figure out what dimensions I would like to have. Hmmmm....

Nice pipe! I'm in the same boat, I would rather have a classic shaped pipe, while I can appreciate the art of a carved meerschaum pipe.
@jndyer if you contact any meerschaum carver you can order a commission with your preferred inside dimensions and shape. The pipe in my avatar is a size and shape you don't see a lot, was made to order.

Excellent. I like the traditional shapes in meers, and the silver looks great. My one meer was given me by the late great fish'n'banjo, Sante Giuliani, a similar billiard with wine grapes and leaves carved into the bowl. I really like the smooth bowl on yours, too. You can't beat a meer for definition of flavors.
I ended up ordering 2 pipes and 0 tampers in the end from him. Lol

Back in spring when my family was fleeing from war I had to use a rusty nail as a tamper for 3 month,
cause I grabbed my pipe, but not the acessories.
It had a shape just like yours, lol.
That's great! My next buy will be a commissioned tamper. I want one shaped like my old man tamper I have.

So does the tamper eventually color all the way vertically, similar to a meerschaum pipe horizontally?
If so, I would guess it would take nearly a lifetime to fully color a tamper. But it is an awesome concept that I wouldn't have thought of to tamp a meerschaum pipe.

I suppose it would. But in a different way? But its slowly making it's way up the tamper!
Well the pipe arrived last week, and I'm just getting to smoking it now. 15 degrees F is just too cold to sit outside.
Enjoying some Old Joe Krantz Blue in it for the first bowl.
It's drilled perfectly, completely round and symmetrical. Great air flow. The button could be a little more symmetrical, but it's very comfortable. Think we got a winner.
