got my own ebay trouble's ordered something from guy with 3 positives- figured he's new - well - he's unresponsive - now I have to wait like 2 weeks for a refund on a small purchase - what a pain in the ass - no more ebay buying for me
Generally, it is well worth dealing with people whose livelihood is pipes and tobacco, like Forums sponsors, rather than the unknown public. Established retailers live by steady customers. They want and need you back. They're not going to send you a dumpster pipe. It's not even worth getting mad about this one. Lesson learned.
Well, am update. I received an email from ebay today saying they've given me the refund, I was confused i thought it was from the seller but it looks like its from ebay? I'll make sure the money is back on my PayPal, but if it was ebay what happens now? I'll have to inquire, do I keep the pipe or do I still wait for the seller to respond with a shipping label? What if he doesn't? How long do I wait before assuming the pipe has been abandoned with me and then try to get it fixed?
I think you may be keeping the pipe(junk) in this situation - call them - if they say you'l get it it goes back to where it was paid from
I tried calling, it won't let me talk to someone, just directs me to the website, but all the updos under the contact don't apply to my question. I was really impressed with ebay having my back through this, but it's awfully difficult to directly communicate with them
just make sure you see you get your money -Ebay knows the seller is a scumbag-they used to be proactive on banning sellers - now not so much due to more selling makes the company/stock look better- As for the pipe stick it in the corner until you get paid - also consider how damaged it is to chase good money to have it fixed- That thing looked awful to me - but if you thinnk you can fix it for under 50 bucks that's great
Not worth getting it professionally repaired, it's like a $90 cad pipe. Id be tempted to just try to slight pry the crack and put some glue in there and gently clamp it. What have I got to lose anyway, didn't expect it to be abandoned, and maybe it won't be, but if it is, what the heck i might as well give it a go, it would be a free pipe at that point.
As for the gross stem, I'd have to clean and polish it, and maybe with some heat try to slightly bend it so it sits flush against the shank, which it currently doesn't.

Still can't figureout how to directly email or call Ebay worth my question. Do you think once the money is back on my PayPal its safe to assume the pipe is abandoned with me? What if the seller sends me a return label after Ebay pays me? The letter from eBay said the case is closed, but what does that mean for the pipe?
I just got something I ordered - the damn seller substituted it for the same item in a different color - man am I pissed as he still has the original listed for sale - I'm fed up with ebay - such an inconvenience ! Waiting to see if he's going to pull the received return damed/partial refund bull on me . I think 'm done with ebay for good as a buyer.
