I'm all in with STC and breathing new life into long gone blends. You got the right mojo and the right man with Russ to mix and match.
Hell, I'm even ordering War Horse when it gets here, despite my nic wussness. I'll go slow and hope the Horse doesn't trample me.
Well done Dan. You guys deserve a medal! Maybe crossed pipes surrounded by tobacco leaves.

Or, as Jean Shepherd used to say "Brass Figlagee with bronze oak leaf palm". I'd settle for that!

Say, is that a pipe, sitting next to the Jew's harp?

After the marvellous job you chaps have done with Bengal slices I feel an award would fall short. No what you guys need is a nice holiday! May I recommend the Lake District here in England. After the horrendous flooding here, everywhere is so much more accessible by boat. I thought at the same time you could drop by gawiths & drop off the recipe, so us Brits can get our hands on it. Yes you deserve a holiday, let me know if you'd like a chauffeur, I'd me more than happy to help. (Providing you come with samples).

I told you Simong when I next visit the UK with the wife I will slip a few tins in my suitcase for you since you live up the road from my property in the UK.

Good doesn't quite capture the Bengal Slices experience, incredible is much closer. I can't say enough good things about this blend but judging from the above I'm not alone in that assessment.

Condorlover1, damned decent of you old chap, I'd forgotten all about that. If you manage to pass by loads of old condor in my cellar which I'd insist on you taking off my hands! Best regards, simon.

I just got some in the mail today. My first impressions: Oh yes, it's good. It's outstanding. I've never had anything quite like it, though I am still a pretty new pipe smoker. Lights and burns easily, creamy smoke. people who like that incense flavor and aroma some Balkans have should really dig this.

The top note reminds me of Fernet Branca, which as a good Bay Area boy, I used to love when I still drank,

A smoke that keeps me coming back for more with different packing methods and preparations to learn its nuances. This is an expert blend which keeps my interest from first crumble to the last ash. This blend has a chance to join the top of my list with Renaissance, Squadron Leader, Penzance.... I am looking forward to my next bowl and the next blend by these Standard Tobacco gentlemen. They have my attention.

I've only just made my peace with Latakia, having previously thought I I hated it. Is this a blend that a relative beginner could appreciate or is it something I should work my way up to?

It's got a fair amount of Latakia, but it's not a lat-bomb. There's enough going on that the Latakia is just an element of the flavor. There's more to it than just Latakia.

Styler, I think this blend would be a good choice for people just getting into Latakia blends. The Lat is definitely there, but it has a really nice balance. I'm on my second tin and I've found the blend to be wonderful and unique. I'm still a pretty new smoker myself and it's the only blend I've had that I make sure to smoke just about every day.

Dan and myself will be at the IPSD at J&R in some place in NJ were Japanese soldiers don't know the war is over today with the good old Standard Tobacco road show so drop by and say hello. Dan is the handsome one, I can be recognized by the scruffy attire and 'cutty' pipe and 5 o'clock shadow. Anyway if your local drop by and say hello and check out a sample of our blends!
