New B&M Open Two Miles From Me!

To be honest my wife was shopping and saw a B&M just opening in a strip mall two miles from me! She called me from there and put me on the phone with them and they’re carrying not only house blends like the other B&Ms 20 miles from me, but tins. SG, Dunhill, Sutliff etc. The blender is on site and will be going up for a visit in the next few days (when it rains). They had an all VA house so I told my wife to grab 3oz. to try and a Dunhill Navy flake, Navy Deluxe Roll and SG BB tin. All the Perique house blends had Burley in them, and of course they had the candy mixes and Latakia. You can actually smoke inside and can try their stock. They also will order blends I’m looking for and seem to have access as they had all the SG and Dunhill.
I can’t wait to see if the blender will fix up some VA and Perique as they’re selling house at $3 an ounce until the end of the month. We also are the only state without tobacco tax. So it’s just the 6% sales tax. I have wanted to support a B&M and their only a buck more on the tins so I’m doing the happy dance. To sit down and design a Vaper with a blender at $3 an oz. would be outstanding.
Well back out in the sun, got to work on that tan.Also getting the pool all connected and chemicals added. A great day all around.

Yeah I'm going to love it. The Cigar club I hang at is a no pipe place. This also has the big lounge area with lazy boy chairs and big screens. It's also BYOB, which is Coke Zero for me lols. Big grand opening beginning of June, hopefully meet some local pipe smokers, everyone I know just smoke cigars. I can't wait to see it, but the pool is top on the list. Going to rain mid-week so will hit it then. Have a 10% off coupon and plan to make that a big 10% :: The VA house blend is too laid back, going to throw some H&H VS and/or LR in it. Should pop it up with the reds and Perique, if it rocks I'll hit the blender with a couple bowls.
Too funny :clap: the girl I was talking with pronounced Perique as it's written. So first lesson taught - it's Pereek.

Pittsburgh, PA... Actually Monroeville just east 15 miles and it's right off the turnpike. Would be great if any people in the tri-state (PA/OH/WV) wanted to come party! Plenty of room in the cave to crash after.

Is this an independent small business person or part of a chain or franchise? It sounds very promising.

You might direct them to pipesmagazine. They could learn a lot about their intended customers, if

they have the time. I'm lucky to have one long-standing local independent pipe shop near me, a

chain pipe shop at the mall, a cigar and pipe shop in an adjoining suburb, and a few other places, like

J&D discount out on I-95. My independent pipe retailer has been there since the 1970's and has a table

for smoking, nothing fancy, and a hand-written disclaimer on the door about permitting smoking. I think

he's been sort of heroic hanging on. He's in a row with a tattoo shop and a bike shop, and now

new condos are looming up behind his storefront. Either they'll run him off with the rents, or maybe the

"carriage trade" will become his customers. It might raise prices, but I hope he holds on.

Sounds great. Sometimes no online shop beats a B&W store.
I am always jealous when I read about real custom made blends.

Here in Germany the dealers carry a lot of excellent house blends,

but due to taxation laws there is no blending on-site.

Roth and Tim it’s a Smoker Friendly/Cigar eXpress shop. Planned on going up today but my quarterly spinal injection this morning was a hard one. Will be up there in a day or so to check it out and get some pics. Tim it’s on the main drag right by Home Depot. Its open now with a big opening party on June 5th from 5-9. Now it’s $50 for all the food and booze with “great deals”. I don’t drink and not a big fan of food layouts so I’m up in the air about going. The only reason would be to meet some people, but my feeling is they’ll be mostly cigar smokers, and many probably from the cigar club I go to. I’ll be thinking it over, but I can get 5 tins for that lols. I’m all for hooking up there and having a few bowls with you. I’ll PM you and we can set something up.

Congrats! Having a B&M nearby is totally awesome, but totally expensive too. They are responsible for me taking up the addiction, so I buy way too much at mine in order to assauge the guilt of buying ebay pipes and online tobacco.
