Hey Snookie…..you are a man after my own heart mate.

Looks like you have a nice little smoking room there.

My Dad bought this rocking chair (built in Yugoslavia and spent its life in Canada…..don't know how it came to NZ…..someone must have moved here).

A rocking chair is the best thing……ever…..this is set up on my deck……and yes it has a soothing creak……

Thanks for posting your pics…..hope you are living well and enjoying your time.

Cheers,

I hope the same for you, brother! That's a great looking rocker, and it sounds like it's come a long way for you to be able to enjoy it.

Is the desk something you could re-paint or re-finish? I'm not handy like that but know people who have made some very nice pieces from old furniture.

Well done on the chair and the rug!

I cannot read or hear "Navajo rug" but what I think of this song and the story it tells...

Dang, that one is an earbug! I'm going to be singing that all day... haha. Great tune. I added that album to my library. Think I'll listen to it through later today. Thanks for sharing!

Funny you should ask. That desk has needed to go for a long time. I don't think I could have done anything other than install a butcher block style countertop on the black metal legs, but I wasn't really interested in doing that.

In my quest for old, solid furniture, I had been keeping an eye out for a replacement desk and recently came across this one on Marketplace. The seller wanted $100, and I told him I was going to think on it. Then I saw he lowered the price to $75 about a week later, so I couldn't pass it up. Solid oak and made by a custom manufacturer in Montana. The seller was really nice and even agreed to deliver it for me.

I'm going to pick up a similar style leather and oak rolling office chair later today (I'll post a picture after I get it). Perfect condition and only $50. Secondhand is where it's at. You never know what you're going to find! I also really enjoy shooting the shit with people when we meet up for the exchange.

Plenty of room now for this guy to sit and nudge my hand while I try to use the computer...

I want to live in this room and spend the rest of my days smoking pipes and petting that cat.

Adam, is that an overflowing bowl of used matches?!?

I don’t know if I should be inspired or disgusted.

I like stacking things! used matches go on the heap, and I see how tall I can get it before it starts to crumble. Once it gets large, a strategically placed match or two can allow for a few more days worth of matches.
I do the same when washing dishes, drives Cindy mad when the pan she needs is under 2 feet of stacked things. I know, I live a sad life.
