@mso489 I am inclined to agree. Very nice handmade pipes, prices aren’t as outrageous as I would expect. To be completely honest, they generally cost a bit more than I feel truly comfortable paying for a pipe. Not saying they aren’t worth it. But I feel a small twinge of financial irresponsibility when buying such things. However, I do a lot of heavy scrounging around the internet looking for deals, I always try to get them for a reasonable price. This prince was shipped for $188. In the realm of handmade pipes that’s cheap. Certainly not basket pipe prices though ?

The Prince is a lovely shape. Such a natural curve, hangs from the mouth so beautifully. I find they work good for stout tobaccos that would become tedious in a larger pipe, like most stuff from GH, 1792 flake, and Jackknife Plug.

When I first became interested pipe smoking I picked up an estate Kaywoodie. Here I am smoking it. I didn't know what shape it was, but I like it.

mtwaller, wow, the price is right. Suspend all your thrift guilt. I've been looking at Ashtons for quite a while, and that price for that pipe is mighty fine.

@sisyphus interesting, thanks for sharing. I happen to have a decent little amount (250 g each) of 1792, dark flake scented, and dark plug cellaring away in tiny mason jars... this might be just the ticket for those! I already have a few pipes for English blends, although those are more complex, I don’t need a 4th English pipe.

Really fantastic pipe!!! congratulations!!!
... but darn if I didn’t just do exactly that. I’ve never found them remotely attractive until I laid eyes on this baby. It’s stamped “CORPS 30TH” in addition to the usual Ashton markings. From 2014, apparently it’s some sort of special run for the CORPS Pipe Show? Don’t know a thing about any of that, but she’s a fine looking pipe. The length of stem really allows the Cumberland pattern to shine, and at 6.5” this is my longest pipe by far, almost verging into baby Churchwarden territory by the looks of it. Anyway, won’t have it for a few days, just thought I’d spam everyone with more Ashton porn ?

@paulie66scandinavian ah yes, obviously you live in Europe. Pretty sure Etsy is American, and Shae lives here in the states. But I believe his page says he will ship internationally on a case by case basis if you contact him. Assuming you ever see one of his pipes that you cannot live without.
