Never Seen a Pipe Do This.

This is my 4th MM Cob and probably my 25th pipe. Tonight when I lit it up in its maiden smoke, it seemed to produce a lot of smoke. Did I ruin the pipe and what did I do wrong? As I said, in the 000's of bowls I've smoked since Nov 12, I have never done this before.

Just from looking at the pipe, it looks fine.

I used a Lotus pipe lighter. Flame wasn't too high, just normal size. Maybe its ok, it just looks charred and burnt.

Sometimes there's just a weak section maybe that was the case and it just torched... Hey if it still works go with it.

Didn't know that Phillip. It has a lot of character now. I've smoked 2 bowls so far. Seems to smoke just fine.

My MM Legend looks just like that, it smokes just fine never an issue

I have a Country Gent that looks nearly exactly like that, smokes great. As phillip says "Character"

My MM Egg rim looks like that. Happened early in its life, and several years later smokes just fine. Its actually one of my favorites. Once a cake starts to build it will protect the cob from further scorching.

WTH would you want to "just chuck it" the pipes may be inexpensive but are some of the best smoking out there IMHO

Hey, Zo: no problem. I got a couple cobs that look much worse than that. Smoke great. Love those cobs. Filler 'er up, let 'er rip.
Look at it this way: the corn held, didn't pop!
