Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist for RUSH, passed away on Tuesday. May he Rest In Peace. A small part of me went with him.

RIP. Great drummer, awesome lyrics. Maybe the greatest 3 man band ! I saw them for the first time in 1977, Buffalo, NY, Century Theatre. They played so loud, chunks of plaster fell from the ceilings. No one cared !

I always loved the vibe at their shows. It seemed like the audience and band were all friends, family and neighbors in on some big open secret and nobody wanted to be anywhere else.
With Rush people looked forward to the drum solo. Not usually the case.

Tis a sad day, I heard about an hour or 2 ago and it's been nothing but neil peart on my speaker since, I must pay my respects
I saw Moving Pictures in Chicago (Rosemont)...and for a while when single living in Chicago, my street address was 2112.
