I'm a new pipe smoker looking for suggestions on some Virginias. Note: I've only been smoking a pipe for a couple of weeks now and have only tried a small hand full of Aromatics. I have no idea where to start with all the Virginia choices out there.
Thanks!

Orlik Golden Sliced is a great place to start. Quality vs price point can't really be beat and it's a great intro to virginias. If you don't like the flake format just rub it around in the palm of your hand until it breaks up into a ribbon.
Samuel Gawith's Full Virginia Flake is some of the best tobacco on the planet.
Any of the McClelland blends are fantastic.
Anything McConnell is great but I'm partial to Folded Flake and Scottish Cake.
Just about anything Wessex offers is very tasty.
Capstan is a fine virginia, I'm partial to blue.
The offerings from Fribour & Treyer are incredible. Vintage Flake is fantastic and readily available. Cut Virginia Plug is even better but you have to be on your toes to get any as it goes out of stock quickly.
There are tons of other great virginias out there and I'm sure others will offer more suggestions. Hope that helps you get started.

Really, it's not going to matter which one you start with, but McClelland's Red Cake 5200 is a great red Virginia bulk that is sweet and tasty. It'll not set you back much money to try, and it's an easy to deal with ribbon cut.
The main differences in most Virginias is how they are prepared, as most come from the same seed stock. Golden Virginias were mostly flu cured or air cured. The golds are sweet with more haylike tastes. Reds have had more heat to caramelize the sugars, making them sweeter with more tobacco flavors, and browns have had even more heat and have a more stout flavor. The black VAs are either stoved or aged and can range in flavors, from sweet to earthy. Then there are casings, pressed flakes, blends, and special processes like the Blackeny process.
Jump in and enjoy.

I'm assuming you guys mean McClelland's Red Cake 5100 instead of 5200, right?
Or are you guys getting special stuff the rest of us aren't privy too? :)
Also, since nobody mentioned it yet, Dunhill Flake is an excellent straight virginia. One of my favorites. :)

I'm interested in finding a good Virginia too but one that is as naturally sweet as possible..

Those are all good suggestions but like torque said, the best bang for the buck. Orlik Golden Slice.

McClelland red and black flake. Try red, try black, try mixing. It'll let you know which way to go in the world of virginias

It's not pure virginia...but I would suggest you try a little MacBaren Modern Virginia. Just recently tried some...it's very good. Just something different to throw in the mix.

For a starter Virginia I like Lane MV-1000 which goes for about $15 for a half pound bulk. Light, mildly sweet and easy to smoke.

I agree with others that McClelland's 5100 Red Cake is a great place to start. It was my first Virginia and it makes a good mixer also. For a flake tobacco, Dunhill Flake is good also as a starter.

Not sure I agree with the notion of a starter VA. You've picked up a pipe, how much coddling do you need, after all? Grab a tin of FVF and a fresh pipe (cob will do) and you'll learn all you need to know about VA, flakes and moisture management and proper smoking cadence.

Mild: OGS, Marble Kake
Medium: Klondike Gold, Capstan Blue
Full: Gawith Full Virginia Flake
Just a starting point. There are obviously dozens more, but I think these are standard bearers
