But, most of the times I just carry one of these. And, you can buy them by the bag full, cheap.

If I ever get dementia, and get lost, my family can track me down by the golf tees that i leave around everywhere.
Yessss, Qandale Gang!! hahaI used to make wooden ones, but since buying a Czech tri-tool, only use those now.
You say you don’t use the reamer, I think you mean thin pick, it’s not the tamp or scoop. But since getting the Czech I pretty often have to open the pipe and jam the pick to unplug the bowl during a smoke. So it’s very helpful there.

I have a Sav 921brown rusticated now which I really like as a churchwarden. But I guess the Bings favourite would be the closest to the Quandale now available.
About three inches tall. I don't have one in front of me at the moment, but that's a rough estimate. Most of these I have sold or given away at Christmas this year.Cosmic, there is nothing in top photo for scale. About how tall are those you've made?
This is similar to the tamper I made which has become my favorite. Took a 4" piece of 5/8" oak dowel and rounded off one end, making it cigar shaped. Works great.View attachment 390407
Pipe dowel. 1/2 diamter oak sharpened to a blunt point. Corners rounded a bit. Stained with tobacco and beeswax coated to stop any charring. Tamp one side and a tobacco bowl pick for the other. If you need to poke the airway I have a length of quality metal coat hanger which works great. Cheap easy and to use.
BTW I coat my pipe rims with a wax mixture to avoid charring the rim. Sometimes the flame blows a bit in the wrong direction.
Generally, the tees will get a layer of ash on them before the paint is affected. A quick "tamp tamp" doesn't give them long enough to actually burn. But sure... for people who leave their tees in the chamber while smoking might die earlier than expected, probably from being so dumb that they walk into traffic or something. The paint on the golf tees might kill ya dead.
