Hi again. Here are the first two pipes. I cannot see any imprint on the small Meershaum. i don’t want to clean these because I don’t know how to do it properly. Can anyone tell me anything about these. I’m numbering them since I’ll post a few more later and this way you can mention the number in your reply.

I just want an idea of whether these are worth selling thru consignment on eBay.

If you reasonably clean up your pipes Pipestud is the way to go. If you don't then try Chance Whittamore at greatestatepipes on eBay.

I would be cautious about sending any pipes to Chance. He's had 24 Dunhills he was supposed to refurbish and sell for me for nearly 2 and 1/2 years. He did say it would take a while to sell them but 2 and 1/2 years is unacceptable. In March or April, he said he'd send me the proceeds for half and failed to do so. Now he has ghosted me on ebay and its looking like I'll never be paid for them.

Oh man, that sucks! I guess this guy is still active, in fact that was kinda rhetorical, as I took a look on his eBay site . So why would he not divvy up with you, to say nothing about ghosting you.
That's real bad.
Sorry for your problems, bud.

Any resolution?

Pipestud is the best for buying pipes and Chance is much better selling them. Steve will not clean pipes and put them in pristine condition. This takes away from profits. Chance cleans every pipe till it is pristine.
I recently sold 60 or so pipe from Chance and he got me all the money. I was into an old Michael Parks for 140, Chance got over 400. He got me over 500.00 each for my Trever Talbert Goblins. He got me great prices on some Rads i wasn't smoking and some ruthenbergs. I was pretty amazed that the numbers he was getting. My timing seemed to be pretty good as well as estate prices have gone up quite a bit and I have no idea why. You have to be patient with Chance as he has a lot of customers hence it takes time.

Castello Collection Occio Di Pernice Dublin. Bought years ago and I owned it for 184 delivered. I think he got 325.00

Most of the Rads and Ruthenbergs and other American carvers I paid what I paid smoked them for years and then Chance got me my money back and then some even higher.
If you ever get lazy, Chance is your guy.

Thanks cigrmaster! This is what I needed to hear. I am feeling pretty lazy! So I think I'll give Chance a chance.

Thank you all for the responses. I’m super busy during the week, but I will try to post a few pics here over the weekend.
The two pipes you posted are of nominal market value. $10 to $15 apiece at most. These were inexpensive when new, carving is rudimentary compared to what higher grade carvers of the period were doing. Pipestud won't touch these, nor Chance. Your best bet is eBay where someone might buy them as projects.

You have other pipes, so it may be worth exploring if they're of greater value, but these are not.
