Although at my age I clearly have to full time job, I can already say that the only time I usually smoke my pipe is in the evening simply because I'm more relaxed, casually dressed (for those concerned about ash burns), and don't have to worry about my schedule as far as being somewhere on time.

Smoke at home and make up for what you don't smoke during the day with a couple of extra bowls! :D

I know this wont work for those that have to wear business suits and the like, but

I always wear cotton canvas shirts and they never have burn holes. Much lighter than

a jacket... could slip on over your clothing. (Bass Pro Shop or Cabelas).

The problem with jackets is that they are open in the front, not really solving the problem, unless you smoke like Captain Morgan!

Smoking jacket? That's what happens when you stand too close to the campfire when hunting, right? I'd just get a nice black uninsulated carhartt vest if I was worried about burns. The heavy canvas would prevent burns and not be too hot in theory.

This is great because one of my guilty pleasures to think about while smoking is wanting an embroidered smoking jacket that screams "I'm a smoking jacket from Hef's collection!".

I started laughing while reading and my girl came over to read too (she teases me about my dream jacket all the time). She really likes papipeguys BBQ apron lol.
