Need a Gift Idea

I have a friend who was a big cigar smoker. I turned him on to pipes and he now loves them. He has since got his son into pipes as well.
His son is currently serving as a submariner in the US Navy. His son is a WWII buff.
Looking for birthday gift ideas that tie pipes and WWII together.

Any thoughts?

Maybe a nice piece of a British briar made right before WW2? They always held my interest as I imagine what the life of an estate was before I purchased it.

I really like the MM cobs that are done with Dagner and C&D that have acrylic stems for permanence, if you can locate them. Their value as pipes is way above their prices. One each of those would be a nice surprise, and even more of a surprise over coming years.
