Looks like my dad is having neck surgery to fix spinal stenosis. They are going from the C4 to the T1. Replacing the bone with a metal cage. Just in time for the holidays lol.
Wishing your dad a speedy recovery. It's a brutal surgery. I was facing that 7 years ago, but my neurosurgeon wanted me to try doing a mixture of physical therapy and yoga to see if I could avoid it. The therapies and yoga worked after about 10 months and I still do it every day to ward off having to undergo surgery.

Godspeed to your father and your family. Both a good friend of mine and my mother-in-law had to go through this surgery and while their overall condition got better, full recovery took quite some time. Be patient with him.

I’ll keep your dad in my prayers. I have a congenital neck issue that causes chronic pain but haven’t reached the point of surgery yet. Neck/back pain is so debilitating and I pray that the surgeon performs their duties flawlessly.

Been there, done that. I had C3-C5 fused to correct for spinal stenosis, immediate relief from the pain which had not been abated by popping Vicodin like popcorn. Spent about 8 weeks in a cervical collar but otherwise the recovery was uneventful. I had gotten to the point where I could no longer lift a can of coke with my right hand, the surgeon read me the riot act for waiting so long. Luckily I regained all my strength in that arm. Best wishes for his quick and full recovery.
