One of those tubular foam beer can insulator things shortened halfway with a "shank notch" cut in it works great. Snug, padded, etc.

(My F-250 has two drink-holder spots between the seats, so no stretchy-awkward reaching is necessary for the pipe, and my 24 ounce Yeti insul-cup filled with a mix of Bicardi 151 and gasoline is always at hand.)
