Nasty Meer...

My mother in law was at an antique store today and bought me a small meer! But it is apparently it is pretty nasty. The bowl is completely clogged with cake.

Bummer, meers can get gross, I had a meer lined dr grabow, brand new, smoked it once and something happened and it started to stink to high heaven, not sure why but I had to chuck it it was so bad

You can remove the cake but you have to be careful. Take a dowel of the appropriate diameter with fine sandpaper and ream it out as necessary.

I shouldnt tell ya what I have done to my meer. It was possessed with the ghost of mix 79 so it got a scrub with some 151 Everclear and then a shot of boiling water.Mind ya I only paid 5 dollars for this pipe.Last week I baked it at 350 for an hour then scrubbed it with a magic eraser. Now I am trying to rebuild the wax coat it had on it. I will say the ghost is gone. I was told by Fred that most Meers wouldnt take this type of abuse and it must be a high grade block and I dont recomend this for any pipe that you would hate to loose.
