Good call. I have just received the Untouchables so fingers crossed 🤞
I think I ordered my first tin from Esterval's in May 2020. I've smoked about 15 tins since then and I have more unopened. You might say it hooked me from the first tin.

That being said, as with other blends, it is not for everyone. Several pipe smokers I have shared it with didn't like it. Some others didn't like it at first but decided it was good after smoking two or three bowls. There are at least three others who constantly ask me if I have any they can trade for (before it became available for purchase in the states)

I find myself reaching for it three or four times a week.

@LongIslandPiper Its really the best of both worlds.

Ed G is good but its got a lot of sweet and sour notes
DC has depth

Mixed and with some added perique you get the sweetness of ED G plus the depth of Directors Cut.

If you like tea its great with black tea, milk and sugar. Its desert.
Thanks for this recipe. Tried it tonight, and it is indeed the best of both worlds!

Dont overlook Janneman like I did. Its not a complicated show stopper but its a good tobacco with a Red VA base and perique. The Perique adds just a bit of spice and figgy flavor. To me its kind of like taking DNR and giving it a twist. Im just having my first bowl and I know I will order more.

If straight VA tobacco isnt quite your thing its still in that realm but with some added condiment for flavor.

I like a lot of HU blends but Flanagan Flake has become the tobacco blend smoke most regularly. It’s got a bit of everything in the mix and for me it is a great medium strength all day smoke. Also - although I generally don’t care for dark fired I quite like it in Flanagan and other HU blends.
I concur, it’s akin to a kitchen-sink blend to me.

Of course you guys will leave out any mention of HU aromatic blends. I have smoked and enjoyed:

Bahia Orange (Better than Rattray's Exotic Passion but adds chocolate to the orange)
Tillerman
China’s Heaven
Hadde’s Best Irish
Coming Home
The Untouchables Special Mixture (I was happy to see this available in the US but I have 8 tins in my cellar so it will be about seven months before I go looking for more.)

Three blends I have on my bucket list to try are:

Out of Africa
Darkwood Scenery
Moroccan Bazaar
All but one on your bucket list have been axed:(

I think its a bit tooooo mild. Its like the perique isn't even trying.

Yes, Kopp took over some of the DTM blends that was thrown on the history heap. Old Fredders is one I'm especially fond of.
Otherwise; Flanagan, Haymaker, Director's Cut, Tuarekh, Zulu, Fayyum Kake, Louisiana Broken.

Mighty stuff.

I'm very glad I didn't have any of these blends pre K&K change because I like pretty much everything I've tried from them. I cracked open a tin of Directors cut from 2019 that has been my go to cold weather smoke this year. For whatever reason I never sprung for Louisiana Broken until it arrived in the US, but I grabbed a couple of tins based on nearly unanimous recommendation.

I could be wrong but didn't someone confirm that DTM produced HU blends are still being made?

It is definitely mild. I consider it almost a straight virginia with a little conidiments. I know you like Haymaker but I find it too mild :) Its definitely far from the other HU Vapers like DC or Louisana Broken but honesly so is Peterson DNR but I enjoy DNR. Sometime soon I will fire up two pipes..one DNR and one Janneman and determine if they are as similiar as my brain thinks.
