Here is yet another ebay acquisition I had to have just because it looked so different. It's stamped, "OPERA" and underneath that it says, "featherweight". On the other side it says, "Made in France".
From what I can find out through Web searches, the logo matches that of Yello-Bole, though I don't see the shape in online catalogs. the made in France part seems strange for a Yello-bole match as well.
If anyone can can add any information on this thing I'd appreciate it.
As a sort of short review of the pipe, it is indeed very light and has a very narrow conical bore which makes tobacco loading a little difficult. A standard pipe nail is almost too big. It holds enough for about a 20 minute smoke. It's not part of my regular rotation but remains in my collection as an oddity.
It came to me very lightly smoked, maybe just a couple times. I haven't done any restoration as you can see by the oxidation on the stem. There is a bit of wear on the bottom of the shank that makes me think somebody kept it in a vest or shirt pocket.

Can't tell you anything about that one,but I once had a Mastercraft, also made in France that was pretty much identical in shape. The Yellobole circle logo is yellow and is inlaid--on those I've seen.
