I'm a natrorious dick as well myself but it's pretty difficult to be a dick and ask a favor?‍
Plus when you are a dick to the neighbors it bites you in the ass especially living in the sticks deep in the heart of Meth county USA.
Sketchy dudes have to get past his house to get to mine and if things go *ucky in the middle of the night? That neighbor can be here in about a min ready to raise hell. The popo might show in an hour and might be an experienced gent capable of providing help or a Panicky 20 year old punk afraid of his own shadow.
Being polite to the neighbors and keeping them on speed dial has come in handy for a few of us locals over the years.

Yeah you’re completely right about that. I forgot that it was asking for a favor from the neighbor. Don’t see how I lost sight of that.

I’m not trying to be a dick, but if a co-worker of mine was like that I’d vocally scrutinize everything they did that wasn’t healthy.

Why do that when I can "accidentally" leave empty tins and lighters on his desk??

I broke my finger 2 years ago and it really messed with my ability to work with my hands at all. While I still am cranky about the **** of a doc who was so much more worried about the fact that I was fat instead of helping me deal with my broken finger (which still affects my grip strength) I have learned to deal. It sucks, truly, but you will find a way through OP.

Just went and asked a neighbor I'm semi friendly with due to neighbor hood watch kinda issue.
And get a I'd love to help you and would if it was any other jar but lost blah blah blah cancer blah blah blah can't in good moral blah blah blah sigh. Employee said bring a few over in a hour he will open them so least I found a temp solution. ?‍

On one hand, your neighbor kind of sucks (EDIT: Saw the part about losing his sister. It must be questioned though if she was a coffin nail chain smoker? It always helps to inform people about the difference).
On the other hand, I wouldn't smoke while recovering from an injury, right now I schedule tobacco around my workout routine to ensure I don't have Nicotine in my system while recovering (though practically I'm more concerned about carbon monoxide slowing oxygen delivery).
