Fine restoration! I almost cheered when I saw the rim after you removed the damage. Ah, how sweet is wood!
I've begun adjusting the airway and draft holes. But I went into a stem with a small round needle file, and as it's a 16th bend, the file has gotten stuck inside the stem. I've tried turning the file with pliers, grabbing the file end, but the stem turns, not the file. I've pulled and pulled to try to get it out; no dice. I'm going to spray some PAM in it, next, and hopefully the lubrication will allow the file to be removed.
I've had good success with this file inside airways, other than that; I feel a bit sheepish that I can't even get the file out. Since you can't see what you're doing inside the airway, I measure, work, measure, to be sure the file doesn't try to go where it should not.

Very nice job on the resto! Nice to see the rim was salvageable.
4nogginsmike- do you think a gentle application of heat with a blow dryer might help you extract that stuck file?
