It is with a sad heart that I find I must ween myself of tobacco and all my pipes within the next month or so. I have found out last week that I have been Diagnosed with COPD. The exact stage or level is yet to be determined through a Lung Function Test to be administered on June 8/15 at 10am. I suppose 35years does have a way of catching up with one, after all. I shall probably pack my Pipes and Tobacco away and hold them awhile, but yet out of reach of everyday activities to reduce the urge. I have done much research and am fairly well versed on this disease. Shall find out more on Monday. I shall probably stay away from the site for a bit and not lurk for awhile as well. So until I see y'all again, take care and stay healthy
Michael.

Ditto on Jason's kind remarks. This community is a lot more than just pipes and you'll be missed if you leave. So don't.

Ouch. Sorry to hear.
A good reminder not to inhale.

I just got my wisdom teeth out so I'm probably not firing up until the end of the month, but to give up entirely would be horrible.

Michael, I've enjoyed your comments and posts since I joined. As a fellow Canuck, I'd hate to lose our Maritimes representation here on the forum, so stick around and keep us up to date on how you're doing. Best wishes as you learn more about the road ahead, man.

I hate to hear that anyone gets that news, especially a fellow piper.

Take care of yourself and maintain your life's quality as best you can.

I've enjoyed reading your commentary, and I hope this is a misdiagnosis from which you'll return.

Sorry to hear- that is tough news. COPD is a bugger- but getting on top of it early is a big deal. Be well and find joy brother.

ns, I"m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. COPD comes in various forms, so I hope yours is manageable and you can stabilize it and feel good. As hard as it is for Forums members to believe, there is more to life than pipes, but I know this is a difficult interest to suspend. Still, it's a wise choice. Take good care of yourself. I hope you'll feel like dropping around from time to time, but will certainly understand if you don't, not wanting to tempt yourself. Good health and smooth sailing. mso489

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. While the door of pipes may be closing, I hope you find something new that fills you with the same kind of joy. Best of luck.
