I've been a busy man today. These were all really dirty and took quite a bit of work each so here's hoping they're worth it. After the challenge was sent in the Kaywoodie thread I added two to today's offerings. They both took forever but the 4-digit took 2.5 times as long as the Bewlay which had cake that couldn't fit a pencil to start.
Pic 1 and 2: Top Bewlay Emerald 5194 (bet you it's a post trans. Barling from the shape and number). Next down old Kaywoodie from around 1924-1929. Had to carve a new button and I'm not sure I'm completely happy with it yet. 3rd from top is a 4-digit Kaywoodie Super Grain. Next down is a Dry Filter Dublin that actually looks like a decent pipe but I think it'll be going for sale soon. Bottom is a Charatan's Make Lane-era Special Brandy. Left a lot of oxidation there to preserve the CP.
Here's a detail shot of the old 'woodie's nomenclature. She's got some battle scars but I do like her.
And here's the bonus. I did the Edwards yesterday (my first "real" nosewarmer) and it was pretty easy. The Amphora was done a bit ago but the bowl was nasty so I took some Murpy's to it and it cleaned up ok. That's the next I'll probably sell. And the Barling I did some work on the stem but the toothmarks might have to get some superglue before I sell it.
Pic 4: Top, Edwards nosewarmer. Middle, Barling Vintage 4899. Bottom, Amphora Bulldog.
