Hello,
It looks like lots of folks post their pipe collections, new pipes, etc. on here so I thought I'd join in the fun!
pipe-collection-small-600x450.jpg

Bottom left: Bjarne Viking class bent billiard with a matte finish. Its got some fills, and the hole is off center in the bowl, but it smokes reasonably well and the briar is pretty nice looking to my taste (minus the small fills).
Bottom middle: A no-name "made in Greece" pipe, I think its considered an author style with some rustication. It smokes good for the price ($25 I think). The bit cracked from what I considered normal clenching, so that's disappointing, but I'm going to put one of those rubber bit savers on it and see if it fill fix the problem.
Bottom right: MacQueen Strider pipe. I love this pipe, its my dedicated aromatic pipe. It's got a really nice finish as well.
Top Left: My new Peterson Killarney shape #150 (sorry I don't know all the style names, I think its a bulldog?) It has the P-lip stem which I actually like, but it is harder to clean. Smokes really well and looks very classy, I like it.
Top Right: Last but not least, a recent eBay splurge. Ben Wade Preben Holm freehand. It was very slightly used but the grain on it is really beautiful and its the first pipe that I've seen and knew that I had to have. I was a bit disappointed to see that the chamber was drilled down below the intake hole... (Not sure if it was original or someone got overzealous with cleaning/reaming) I don't know if it affects the smoke or not because I haven't taken her on her maiden smoking voyage yet 8O
Hope you enjoy

Thanks DocWatson. I'll try to get some more pictures up of the Ben Wade when I get a chance, its really unique in both grain and shape. As for the box, although it looks neat its just a cheap ($10?) cedar box with an overlay that looks like the beautiful grain (It looks real until you touch it). Its not even a humidor, its felt lined, but I really like the look of it and it works great for storing pipe cleaners, matches, cigars, etc... Someday I'll get a nice humidor, in the meantime, I like my imitation :(

I've got some more pipe pics from some recent acquisitions
I didn't want to start another thread to talk about them, so I'll revive this one. I wanted some more pipes for smoking, and also wanted to try my hand at some restoration work.

Top Left: Kaywoodie Drinkless stamped "Imported Briar 7704" (I think) Its been cleaned up from the seller, really nice looking briar. When the bit is screwed in its a bit off of flat (perpendicular) if that makes sense, which bothers me, but totally smokeable.
Mid Left: Marked "Selected", "Imported Briar", "canadian" and "30 Astor pl. Pipe shop" Its got some good dings and could use a cleanup.
Bottom Left: Totally unmarked, it actually has a flattened bottom so it can sit. Really decent looking grain for the price with just a couple of small dings and one pit. I want to strip and stain this one a darker color. Its actually the only un-smoked one of the bunch (though it smells like it was stored in a coffin for the last century  )
Top Right: Marked "London Made". This is probably the most disappointing of all the new ones. Its got several fills and the stain has drip looking areas (maybe it sat in water?). I want to strip and re-stain this as well. Its a shame about the fills because it has wonderful birdseye on the back of the bowl and heel.
Mid Right: Comoy's Everyman "296". Great little pipe. Its dinged up a bit but has nice grain. Not sure if the bowl was originally at that angle but I like it. I think the stem is aftermarket, it has 3 lines instead of the "C". I'm considering sanding down the rim a bit and making it flat and giving this one a re-stain as well.
Bottom Right: "Piccadilly, London Made" Pretty little pipe.
All of the stems are in pretty good shape, no teeth marks, 5/6 of the bowls have been cleaned. I still want to give them all a thorough cleaning and possibly re-staining for some. And give them all a polish when I get the tools.
More pics...

I love your MacQueen Strider pipe the shape seems perfect. The cant of the bowl and the curve of the stem are beautiful.
Now, I suppose I'll have to re-photograph my pipes... sigh...
I still like the Brebbia tamper. The square tamper end is brilliant, as is the little spoon.

The square end allows the piper to more precisely tamp one area in the bowl where the round tamper makes one tamp the whole surface of the tobacco in one's pipe. The flaring of the "shank" of the stem also facilitates the more accurate tamping as well.

I don't think there is a better mass produced tamper. The "pipe nails" are ok and are quite functional. But, the Brebbia is simply a brilliant design.... The spoon end allows the piper to clear the draft hole without greatly disturbing the burning pack in his pipe. As we all know when you attempt to clear the draft hole with the standard pipe nail the whole pack is disturbed and never quite burns right after that. (I never really liked the "pick" in the Czech tool.)

One other point about the Brebbia... They seem to be much more comfortable in one's pocket. I suppose it's because there are no radical angles, or sharp edges as the square end is rounded off on all sides and corners...
Conclusion: The world needs more Brebbia tampers.
Sorry... I didn't mean to high-jack your thread...

Brilliant collection!

I like that Ben Wade. What would you call that shape?
Freehand is about all I could come up with. I really like how the lip continues out on the bowl instead of coming straight up like a horn (which is how almost all similarly shaped pipes are). It especially looks good because there is so much surface area on the top of the bowl with nice birdseye.
Conclusion: The world needs more Brebbia tampers.
I agree! Though I may not be as excited about it as you :D . I bought it with my first pipe, pipe cleaners and tobacco. It has served me well so far and it does its job.
I love your MacQueen Strider pipe the shape seems perfect. The cant of the bowl and the curve of the stem are beautiful.
I like it as well, its a great smoker too, I fully recommend Macqueen pipes from my experience. They have changed the stain on the strider to a much darker one which I'm not a fan of, I prefer mine.
Glad y'all enjoy the pics. I still have not smoked the Ben Wade, I cant decide what type of tobacco to smoke in it... English seems out of place, aromatic seems to fit but I rarely smoke them these days... any suggestions?
