Here is a short documentary that was shot in 1987. It is interesting that even back then the industry was suffering.

You are all welcome guys.
@1coyote, I have one clay pipe and it gets smoked rarely.
@cosmic, I have never seen that. Father the Flame, sounds like a Nicolas Cage movie to me :)
@sable, After watching it I searched for the company and read that the owner retired in 1992 and the company was bought by another bigger one to continue the tradition.

A touching piece. Seems like the 19th Century!
Sable, though the music is, uh, dreadful, would it be better in HiFi? Conversion from a lousy source to a poor format is a winner! The first piece sounded like it might have been something or other that was vaguely familiar in style.

Good to hear, as the info I was given before indicated that the company had gone poof!
Here it is:
John Pollock & Company of Manchester, England began making clay pipes in 1879 and continued until Gordon Pollock's retirement in 1992. Not wanting to see such a classic tobacco art form end, Wilsons & Company purchased the molds and the Pollock name, continuing the legendary art of clay pipe making. Many of the original hand-pressed molds are still in use.
