Today, for the first time in a long while, I was able to sit on my beck deck and enjoy a bowl of Gaslight in my MM Maple Cob. It was so enjoyable I was sorry when the bowl was done. It's moments like that, that really make me appreciate this hobby. We have a Mountain Ash tree in the backyard that produces big bunches of red berries over the course of the growing season. In the spring, the Cedar Waxwings will come in droves to pick the tree clean. They are very skittish but if I sit very still and very quietly, they will ignore me and go about feasting on the berries. Today was such a day.

Nice, shikano! We are quite warm today, birds are hopping and feeding, raised beds got a make over this morning, and we are getting ready to plant up a few things. Almonds are in bloom, and it looks like a fairy land here in N. CA farm country. Many a bowl both working and sitting outside.

We rarely slow down anymore and enjoy the simple things. Smoking a bowl and just observing the world around us can be such a stress reliever.
