New pipe from LJ Peretti in Boston. Also a try of their blend 100, a mild burley. Enjoying them both in the break in.

Though everyone doesn't always agree on shape designations, I'd call that a yacht, and a beautiful one at that. Peretti is one of the grand old pipe shops in the country, along with Iwan Ries in Chicago and the now-closed Nat Sherman formerly in Manhattan. A good yacht shape pipe is a fine acquisition.

That shape (whichever name you use)..... is to me, my very favorite pipe shape! It is definitely a beautiful beast!!!!!

Thanks gents! That store is a treat step back in time. Worn wood, very old weights and measures, and their trademark yellow paint cans of tobacco. I had never heard of a yacht shape but I’ll add it to my study of the pipe. It smoked well!

That's a gorgeous pipe no matter what you call it. Next time I'm in Beantown, I'm going to have to look for that store.
