Had my eye on that one, even threw down a bid but it went waaay over what I was willing to spend.
Last year at Chicago I became a member of the CK Club, ssJones, as I was so very lucky to purchase a 1950 CK from a dear friend who was selling off many pipes from his amazing collection, including many 1950 Dunhill's (his birth year) and all in pristine condition and this was one of them; a 1950 CK from his birth year in incredible condition.
This pipe has no Root or Bruyere stamping to denote that it's a smooth. I believe it predates the CK stamping with either.
Enjoy your CK, lucilucius it's a wonderful shape! Next, take a look at Sasieni Ashford's, very close in shape and just as rare and desirable!
