Up until this weekend i had been attending a cigar shop to get whatever pipe tobacco they saw fit to have( decent but nothing to write home about) i just found John B Hayes Tobacconist and let me tell you that is one fine establishment. For the first time ever i was offered to sample any tobacco i wanted to see what i like that was a whole new world to me. anyone in the DC area should give them a look.

Congrats on finding a great B&M. I'm envious as we don't have anything nice in our area.......... :puffy:

Where in the DC area are you located and what was the shop you used to go to before JBH? I like the fact that if you look around behind tins, you sometimes come across some older interesting stuff. G!

i am 45 minutes from DC out by Manassas. the shop was in Fairoaks mall and in Winchester as well but thats a tad further. though i love tins i think that to avoid bulks in all is to miss out on some real great surprises.

Got ya. You're right in between the 2 pretty much. We've got a place in Strasburg as well so occasionally, I head out to the Winchester shop. There are a few great B&M's in DC i.e. Drapers and Georgetown but they're heavy in cigars so as good as they are, they're not pipe heavy. Drapers has a few nice bulk mixes as does Gt. I"ve been meaning to take a road trip up to Boswells so LMK if you want to ride along. If possible, Al will meet us as he lives on the way up there. G1

As great as this site is, it would also be nice to have a B&M within reach. The smell of cigars & pipes plus all the hands on baccy & briars would be a festive trip. Miss it, as nearest one is over 100 miles. Enjoy, as I'm sure you will.
