I was very pleasantly surprised when Brad contacted me about making the first pipe, and even though I know he was satisfied with it, I was kinda shocked when he asked for a second!

After all, I ain't no pro at this and have no intentions of ever trying to be one. Making the pipes and tampers are a hobby for me,but I can't keep them all and I don't mind making a buck or two either. Helps to pay for my PAD and TAD.

And Roth, hopefully we'll get lucky and I can find another chunk of good Mulberry!

Peck like Ed said, first 1 or 2 smokes a burnt woodsy taste, very very slight, the Poker was dryer , lighter, and the second smoke was dialing in, they are super light and I believe are worth haveing. Thank You Ed!

Mulberry! That's a new one on me. Tell a little about that, please. Is this mulberry root or limb stock,

and what are its smoking characteristics. As I've said, once too often perhaps, I have two pipes made

out of Mountain Laurel, which was a pipe stock alternative during WWII when briar was scarce. Now,

Mountain Laurel is scarce, at least as a pipe bowl material. But Mulberry sounds interesting and looks

terrific, makes for a really handsome pipe.

The Mulberry I used was from the trunk of a rather large tree. It had been cut and left where it fell for a few years. I've made three pipes from the section I cut off that tree and drug home and one( Bradleys first pipe) from wood that Winton sent me.

I made my first in 8-09 and it is still in my rotation.

Bradley, that is a beauty. That is what I call a nice hunk of wood. Should keep you smoking for a few hours.
ejames, very nice work, and thanks for the explanation about the Mulberry, never knew you could make pipes out of it.
